There are few things in this world that feel worse than nail color regret. When we pick out a color from the display case (under pressure, no less, as the tech waits over your shoulder), it gets lacquered on and...you hate the end result. But it's too late; you've shelled out the $30 for a gel mani, and now you're stuck for the next three-ish weeks with nails that don't feel like you.
Which is why many of us have a comfort shade, an emotional-support nail color that you know will always look good and that you'll always be happy with when you leave the salon. OPI, with their clever, recognizable polish names, often leads the go-to shade pack: Funny Bunny, Lincoln Park After Dark and the famed Cajun Shrimp, an orange-red shade that complements most skin tones and seasons, to name a few.
So, when a rumor spread on TikTok that Cajun Shrimp was looking, well, less Cajun Shrimp-y, the girlies were none too pleased.
