ElliK Beauty has harnessed the power of this "energy vortex" with a
new line of skincare that calls on the natural elements inside the vortex. Elli
K took over three years to develop a patented vortex formula, comprised of
ingredients like AZ10-Biome, AZ4-RX and Neurovity. In addition to this formula,
ElliK’s products contain botanicals, water and mud native to this area of
Sedona.
We asked esthetician Joie Tavernise, founder of JTAV
Clinical Skincare to tell us more about these ingredients and their uses.
“It is an exciting time in skin care and we are seeing a lot
of new technology and ingredients,” according to Joie. “The brand’s proprietary
formulas contain unique ingredients like double fermenting echinacea, banana
yucca, desert cactus honey and jojoba seed oil helped create the brand’s
proprietary formulas. The line also includes naturally-sourced water and mud
from Sedona, which are extremely rich in important vitamins and minerals.”
Why are these ingredients so good for skin care? Joie tells
us that “the ingredients in each product were specially chosen to deliver high
concentrations of hydration, moisture, and optimized anti-aging care.” But,
just because these ingredients were sourced in nature does not make them any
less powerful than lab-created formulas. Joie says they “contain powerful
properties to help nourish and revitalize the skin and are also anti-bacterial,

Joie adds when using these products, consistency is key. “To

Sourced from the Saguaro cactus, cactus honey has a
reputation for antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic
properties. It also enhances skin hydration. ElliK gathers the honey in an eco-friendly
manner.
Sedona Water
Deep within the Sedona desert lies natural spring water,
prized for its purity and rich in
minerals. The water also has a natural pH of 8, which is thought to be the
perfect pH for drinking water. When used topically, this water improves skin
fitness by increasing immunity.
Sedona Mud
The scarlet soil of the Sedona desert makes some amazing
mud. Its benefits are twofold as it’s not only efficient

How to use these products:
Joie recommends a daily deep cleanse in the warmer months because of increased
perspiration, sunscreen, and the environmental toxins. “Using a deep cleansing

Joie says “My other favorite product for the season is
