Long before Bill Murray relived the same day over and over in Woodstock, Illinois, it was already the kind of place that makes you want to stick around. Every first Saturday in June, the Woodstock Area Chamber of Commerce shuts down the historic square to traffic and fills it with 20-plus food trucks, live music and a beer tent that pairs nicely with the small-town summer energy.
3. Huntley Food Truck Frenzy, Huntley, Illinois — July 18, 2026
The Huntley Park District's 3rd Annual Food Truck Frenzy is the kind of small-town summer event that makes you remember why you loved summer in the first place. From 11:30 a.m to 8 p.m more than 30 food trucks serve everything from Hawaiian dishes and Filipino fare to lobster rolls and funnel cakes, with two live bands and a DJ keeping the vibes high all day long.
4. Chicago Food Truck Festival, Chicago, Illinois — June 20-21, 2026
Season 13 of the Chicago Food Truck Festival rolls into the South Loop this June, and if the last dozen years are any indication, it's going to be a very good weekend. Chef-prepared mobile eats from the city's top gourmet trucks fill the grounds with live music and the festival's legendary Daisy margaritas flowing from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Bring your lawn chair, your most elastic waistband and your favorite designated driver.
5. Minneapolis Food Truck Festival, Minneapolis, Minnesota — Aug. 1, 2026
With 40-plus trucks parked along the Mississippi River, the menu spans everything from Maine lobster rolls and smoked ribs to gyros and fro-yo. Beyond the eats, you'll find a vintage record truck and a mechanical bull (for the person who apparently needed one more reason to regret that third lobster roll). A craft beer or batch cocktail goes down even easier knowing proceeds benefit Feed My Starving Children, which received 50,000-plus meals from the festival in 2025 alone.
6. Anoka Food Truck Festival, Anoka, Minnesota — Aug. 15, 2026
Downtown Anoka transforms into a full-blown street food destination with 50-plus food trucks lining up on Jackson Street. The 10th annual edition brings global eats ranging from Japanese hibachi and Spanish paella to Maine lobster rolls and acai bowls,
plus live music that turns what should be a casual afternoon into the kind of Saturday your Sunday self will absolutely not forgive you for.
7. Columbus Food Truck Festival, Hilliard, Ohio — Aug. 14-15, 2026
Now in its 15th year, the Columbus Food Truck Festival draws more than 25,000 attendees to the Franklin County Fairgrounds with 50-plus gourmet food trucks from Ohio and across the Midwest. Since 2011, the festival has donated more than $115,000 to local charities, which means every taco you eat is basically an act of community service.
8. Salem Food Truck & Craft Beverage Festival, Salem, Massachusetts — Sept. 19-20, 2026
Salem in September is already operating at peak atmosphere, and the 7th annual Food Truck & Craft Beverage Festival at Salem Common leans all the way in. More than 40 food trucks bring mac and cheese, Venezuelan street food, wood-fired pizza and cookie ice cream sandwiches, paired with local craft beers, wines and cocktails that go down easy on a crisp New England fall day. Come hungry, come early and maybe don't wander too far from the food trucks after dark.
