1. "What We Can Know by Ian McEwan"
The author of “Atonement” gives us this glimpse of the
future, framed through the search for a lost poem. In 2014, a poet dedicated a poem
to his wife on her birthday, read aloud at a dinner party. The poem is then
lost, leading scholars on a quest to find out what “A Corona for Vivien” says.
Cut to 2119, and one man is obsessed with tracking it down, even as the waters
of the planet rise around him. A clue leads to stories of love and crime he
could have never imagined.
2. "Heart the Lover" by Lily King
Jordan meets two best friends in her senior year of college,
Sam and Yash. The duo becomes a trio with Jordan spending lots of time with the
boys, filled with banter and card games. When the tide turns and the friendship
soon becomes a love triangle, all are changed forever. Cut to decades later and
a surprise visitor brings Jordan back to those days.
3. "The Lost Story of Eva Fuentes" by Chanel Cleeton
Margo, an American, is tasked with tracking down a
mysterious antique book, over a 100 years old, for a client in London in 2024. Only one
copy exists and her client’s unlimited budget just might not be enough. Jumping
over to Havana, 1966, a librarian is asked by a fleeing neighbor to return a precious
book to its rightful owner. In Boston, 1900, we meet Eva, a Cuban teacher on a
whirlwind adventure whose forbidden love affair leads to a memoir that will
enchant and ensnare people for decades to come.
4. "The Impossible Fortune" by Richard Osman
Part of the "Thursday Murder Club" series (also a new show
on Netflix), this mystery novel about elderly sleuths, a wedding and a murder is
equal parts cozy and satisfying, like a warm blanket on a chilly autumn night.
5. "Alchemised" by SenLinYu
Helen is a prisoner of war, once a promising alchemist, but
now drained of her memory and abilities. The new rulers of Paladia hear of her past
as a healer and send her to a powerful necromancer to restore her memory and hopefully
recover a piece of the Resistance’s final strategy. Once she arrives at the crumbling
estate, Helena is not just fighting to protect herself, but to also reveal the
secrets her captor is holding as well.
6. "Play Nice" by Rachel Harrison
A fun twist on the haunted house trope, this book focuses on
Clio, an influencer who is eager to flip her childhood home, even though her
mother swore it was haunted by a demon. Her mother wrote a book about horror,
losing custody of her kids in the process. Now that her mom has passed away and
the house belongs to Clio and her sisters (who want nothing to do with it),
Clio is determined to make the house into content, even if it means confronting
the ghosts of her childhood once and for all.
7. "Bad Things Happened in This Room" by Marie Still
Willow has lost track of time, trapped by fear of her husband and
locked in her own mind. Roaming the garden on an endless loop, she meets Sarah,
who offers a glimmer of hope. When Sarah vanishes, if she even ever existed,
Willow must confront the darkness of the past and inside her mind, though some
truths deserve to remain buried.
8. "We Love You, Bunny" by Mona Awad
A prequel and a sequel to the cult hit “Bunny,” this book
continues to follow Sam, who, after being ostracized and seduced by a clique of
creepy girls called Bunny, has published her first novel, a success. During her
book tour, she is kidnapped by Bunny, unhappy with their portrayal in Sam’s
book. Held at axe-point, Sam learns about the origins of the group, complete
with dark fairytale lore, horror and most importantly, friendship.
9. "Tourist Season" by Brynne Weaver
This unusual rom-com takes place In the popular seaside town
of Cape Carnage where Harper protects her home from troublesome tourists by
disposing of them beneath her flower bed. When Nolan, a handsome tourist with an appetite for

10. "Wild Card" by Elsie Silver
