Not even household gadgets are exempt from the law.
On Tuesday, Washington County, Oregon's Sheriff's Office confirmed via Facebook that they received a call about a possible home burglary; the suspect had locked his or herself in her bathroom and was making a lot of noise.
"The caller can see shadows under the bathroom door," the Facebook post read.
The stand-off escalated to the point where a K9 was called in, reported local station Q13 Fox.
"After several announcements, the suspect does not come out when commanded. With guns drawn, deputies open the door to encounter the suspect…An automated robot vacuum."
The deputy in charge of the call made a detailed note of how the scene unfolded.
The suspect has not yet issued a public apology for wasting taxpayer dollars.
