We’ve seen LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen break it down with stars like Alicia Silverstone, Derek Hough and Pete Davidson on the Lip Sync Battle television show, but the men and women in blue are giving them all a run for their money.
It started with Deputy Alexander Mena of Bexar County, Texas when a video of him lip syncing to "Fuiste Mala" by the Kumbia Kings went viral.
"People get to see another side of the officers and the not-so-serious side that everybody perceives it to be when you're talking to an officer or you're communicating with one," Mena told ABC News.
Little did he know he’d sparked a challenge. Using the hashtag #LipSyncBattle, other stations started following suit.
Obviously, this one wins.
Though the battle is fairly confined to Texas and surrounding states, the Boston Police Department joined in the fun (possibly inadvertently) when two officers prepared for the upcoming Independence Day holiday with a rendition of “God Bless America” from their squad car, evoking James Corden as they dubbed it “Cop Pool Karaoke.”
Let the battle continue.
