1. "Burntcoat" by Sarah Hall
Sculptor Edith looks back on her ending life, including
the time she was in lockdown in her studio, Burntcoat, with her lover. The virus
they hid from has changed them all and is back, taking its toll on Edith once
again. As she finishes her last piece, Edith recounts her art and training in
Japan, her relationship with her mother and the effects of the virus on
society as a whole in this reflective novel.
