Remember in "Back to the Future 2" when Marty McFly slips his feet into a totally awesome pair of Nike Air 2015 shoes, complete with "power laces" that adjust on their own? Well, those shoes aren't a sneakerhead's fever dream anymore.
Nike, one of the biggest names in the sports apparel game and perhaps the most technology-focused of the big names, is responsible for the real life incarnation of McFly's fictional Nikes. And even though the brand is a year behind (McFly's shoes were a 2015 edition), the new Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 shoe looks like it was worth the wait. The science behind these sneakers is way over our heads, but it sounds cool when Tiffany Beers, Nike's Senior Innovator, explains it!
Nike's being pretty vague on the actual release details, but it looks like the shoe will be hitting the shelves just in time for this holiday season. Heidi Burgett, the brand's PR director, tweeted this week that "appointments to experience and purchase [the HyperAdapt 1.0] begin 11.28.16" but they will only be at select Nike stores. Sign us up!
