I have all the respect in the world for people who live in New York City. It's no secret that the Big Apple is one of the most expensive places to live, and what you get for what you pay is usually...lacking. So, it takes a dedicated human to be able to say, "Screw financial stability!" in the name of moving to their dream zip code.
Well, Hattie Kolp doesn't quite have the same problem.
Kolp, who runs a blog across TikTok and Instagram, is going a bit viral after video of her apartment was shared on Twitter. It's a rent-controlled, pre-war, two-bedroom on the Upper West Side, and it is...beautiful.
Kolp used to live in the 1920s-era apartment with her parents; she even details what her childhood bedroom used to look like.
The pocket doors! The butler's kitchen! The brick fireplaces! It's a wonderland of an apartment, and it's obvious that Kolp puts her heart and soul into her renovations. She takes care of her place and uses a lot of creativity in her updates, so we can't help but root for her -- even if we'd sell our own souls to live here.
