1. Isle of Skye, Scotland
Known as one of the most magical places in Scotland, nay,
the world, this dreamy destination feels like a fairytale. Movies in need of a
mystical location, like “MacBeth” and “BFG” were both filmed here. For an
overview of the island, start with the 80 mile long Skye Trail that takes you all around, from hills to bogs. Be on the lookout for Old Man of Storr,
a famous landmark of jagged mountain peaks. Go fairy spotting at Fairy Pools, waterfalls and crystal-clear,
light-reflecting pools and the Fairy Glen, a scenic spot where you can probably
see fairies scurrying about if you squint hard enough. And don’t miss the Three Chimneys,
a restaurant that sounds like something
from a Harry Potter book but it actually has a Michelin star.
