With a gilded dove of peace brooch pinned to her fitted navy cashmere jacket and voluminous red skirt made of silk faille, Lady Gaga belted out the "Star-Spangled Banner" for Joe Biden Jr.'s Presidential inauguration.
The custom ensemble was designed by Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Berry, according to Harper's Bazaar UK.
“As an American living in Paris, this ensemble is a love letter to the country I miss so dearly and to a performer whose artistry I have so long admired," Berry said in a statement. "Maison Schiaparelli is honored to have this chance to dress the iconic Lady Gaga on this historic Inauguration Day. God Bless Lady Gaga and God Bless America.”
With a gold microphone in her hand, Gaga took to the podium and delivered one helluva of a rendition of the National Anthem, to the delight of social media and the socially-distanced crowd gathered in D.C.
Another fantastic performance today came courtesy of Jennifer Lopez, who was a vision in white Chanel (and covered in diamonds, of course). The people were here for "America the Beautiful" and "This Land is Your Land" with a little bit of "Let's Get Loud" sprinkled in (because today did feel a bit like a concert).
