1. "Maame" by Jessica George
Maddie is stuck in a rut between a disappointing job and caring
for her ill father while her mother spends most of her time in Ghana. When her
overbearing mother returns to London, Maddie makes a break for it, rents a
flat, pushes for recognition at work and starts dating. Then, tragedy strikes and Maddie
must deal with her family issues head-on, once and for all.
