1. Sandy Hook Beach
Sandy Hook Beach is a stretch of coastline within the Gateway National Recreation Area in New Jersey Monmouth County. This beach is the most northern one in the state and has a view of New York City. The park spans 27,000 acres and includes beaches, bike paths, former military installations and home to the oldest operating lighthouse in the United States. There are even pet friendly beaches!
2. Asbury Park
This seaside city on the Jersey coast is known for its beachfront boardwalk and live music venues. Cultural landmarks include the Stone Pony, Paramount Theatre and the Wonder Bar. The boardwalk is lined with shops, restaurants and attractions. There's an array of dining options along the boardwalk and within the town ranging from seafood to Italian. Asbury Park has a little bit of everything for everyone!
3. Manasquan Beach
This quiet and beautiful beach town is only one mile long but packed with a variety of activities. Main Street is the center of downtown with shops, restaurants and entertainment. The Manasquan Inlet is the perfect place for paddle boarding with rentals at "Paddle Out". The shoreline features excellent surfing spots, fishing locations and family friendly playgrounds. Manasquan is ideal for all ages.
4. Long Beach Island
Long Beach Island is great for extended vacationers and day trippers. The island is comprised of 6 towns offering 18 miles of beautiful beaches. Harvey Cedars has a relaxing slow pace whereas Beach Haven is known for its amusements and shopping. You can find Fantasy Island Amusement Park which is home to arcades, mini golf, a water park and an escape room.
5. Cape May
The southern most tip of New Jersey is Cape May. Designated as a National Historic Landmark because of its grand victorian houses. The pedestrian friendly Washington Street Mall includes shops, restaurants, lodgings and tourist attractions. Cove Beach hosts swimmers, surfers and hikers during the summer months. Cape may also has a beautiful free zoo just a short drive from the beach.
