1. Pumpkin Carving
This can be either a cute, creative date night or a competitive one depending on where you take it. Either spend the evening carving pumpkins for your porch together or make it challenging by giving the other a design to carve by memory and not reference.
2. Cozy Drive-In Movies or Living Room Fort Movie Night
If the weather (or your car) permits, pack up some blankets, some battery-operated tea lights, a handful of snacks and pillows to get cozy and snuggle up at an outdoor movie. Rainy day? No problem. Take your at-home movie night to the next level by setting up a living room fortress with pillows, blankets, fairy lights and plenty of snacks, of course.
3. Cider Tasting at a Local Orchard
As long as your nearest orchard is not too far, an evening cider tasting, whether that be alcoholic or not, can be an exciting event to look forward to. Instead of your classic wine-tasting afternoon, taste-testing a seasonally beloved beverage is a less common date to throw on the calendar. Plus, you can even throw in apple picking on the itinerary.
4. Corn Maze or Haunted Hayride
Lean into the spirit of the season with these adrenaline-seeking activities. Whether navigating your way through a maze or sitting through a scary hayride, it’s the perfect excuse to cozy on up to your significant other.
5. Great British Bake Off, At Home
In honor of the release of season 10, and in honor of the best season for baked goods, come up with your own at-home baking challenge with your partner. You can take a note out of the “Great British Bake Off’s” playbook and make a challenge of three baked goods following a signature, recipe-less one and a showstopper.
6. Star Gazing With Hot Cocoa
Fall's early sunsets mean the night sky is on your schedule. Bundle up, pack a thermos of hot cocoa and lay out a blanket in your backyard or a nearby park.
7. Café or Pub Crawl
Pick three coffee shops you've never tried and hop between them on an evening after work, trying the most unique picks off the menu. Coffee not your thing? A local pub crawl for date night can be equally as fun.
8. Fireside Game Night
Light a fire, pull out a board game or deck of cards and pour up your drinks of choice. This can be an engaging (or competitive) date night from the comfort of your own home.
9. Trader Joe’s Dinner Date
As with the social media trend, head to your local TJ’s and rock, paper, scissors over an appetizer, drink, main and dessert. Then enjoy at home over your latest couple TV show fixation.
