Cardening is gardening in a car, using spare dashboard
storage space to grow little tiny plants. You carden in your car or driveway
(not while moving), then have a beautiful dashboard to show for it. It’s a Zen
thing, especially if you tend to sit in a lot of traffic; the fresh plants give
you something nice to think about.
Cacti and succulents are some of the best plants to grow in your car. It
gets hot inside cars and there isn't a lot of room for a deep root system. Cacti and succulents can withstand the brutal little greenhouse created by your windshield. Plus, they don’t need a ton of water to survive.
Safety wise, maybe it’s not the best idea to have loose, pointy
things on your dashboard, so carden carefully and wisely. Also, if you do
attempt, make sure you don’t wreck your car interior either with water damage
(it looks like many cardens have a layer of protective plastic underneath).
If you're still in need of some inspiration, or just want a
chuckle, check out these cardening attempts (as well as a few fails).
