We're Falling for the February Fire in Yosemite Valley

Often in mid- to late-February, Yosemite Valley plays host to a natural phenomenon that's been endearingly called the firefall. The well-placed, vibrant sunsets of late winter align perfectly with Horsetail Falls, which flows over the eastern edge of El Capitan and only usually in the winter, lighting up the waterfall when skies are clear. The result is the illusion of flames falling over the cliff's edge, and it's insanely beautiful.
