"Wonka" Movie: Warner Bros. Rumored to Be Eyeing Timothée Chalamet or Tom Holland for Lead

It's the origin story nobody asked for: Yesterday Warner Bros. set the premiere date for "Wonka" for March 17, 2023, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The prequel movie will explore the chocolatier's life prior to opening his famous chocolate factory, and "Paddington" director Paul King is set to bring the adventure to life. We last saw Willy Wonka on the big screen in 2005, played by Johnny Depp in the Tim Burton film. Sources say Tom Holland and Timothée Chalamet are in the running to play the younger version of the eccentric character.
