Do you hear that? It's the sound of money flying out of your pocket as you spend even more cash at your local Whole Foods (as if that was possible). The grocer known for its organic produce and expansive wine selection has officially launched a new venture at its Brightwater, New Jersey store. A new section of the store, called Plant & Plate, will be a boutique-style store inside the Whole Foods "dedicated to beauty, garden and home goods rooted in nature."
"At Plant & Plate, we offer a variety of beauty, garden, and home goods, all rooted in nature. Featured products include Hedley & Bennett aprons, essential oils and barware along with local favorites like Beaucycled jewelry, floral crafts from Hoboken, and Brooklyn-based Apotheke candles. The shop also features pottery by Bridgewater's own Keiko Inouye," Genevieve Monette, whole body coordinator for the Northeast Region of Whole Foods, told Popsugar.
"Bringing in new items that are trending like handmade pottery, copper accessories, and seasonal home décor pieces, we are adding another layer to our customer's shopping experience. It's easy to stop into the shop and pick up a little gift for someone (or for yourself!) while on a regular trip to the grocery store," Monette explained.
Plant & Plate is unique in that many of the gifts sold in the store are local products made right in New Jersey and the surrounding areas. Some products include Hedley & Bennet aprons, Beaucycled jewelry, crafts made in Hoboken and even Brooklyn-based Apotheke candles.
Brightwater's Plant & Plate has been open since March 2018, and although it's the only location Whole Foods has opened so far, there is potential to expand to other sites in the future. "When we came up with the Plant & Plate idea, Bridgewater was the next store opening on the horizon and we thought it'd be a great place to debut this new shop," Monette explained. "It's been quite popular since we opened in March 2018. It's a brand new concept for us and we are excited to see where it lead us in future store designs and concept."
Before you go to bed tonight, say your prayers that more P&P locations will be opening soon.
