This week's pick: "Fireplace 4K: Crackling Birchwood from Fireplace for Your Home."
Weighing in at one hour and 15 seconds of straight up, virtual fireplace, "Fireplace 4K" is a godsend for apartment dwellers everywhere -- when you don't have a real fireplace, it almost does the trick.
Added Bonus: You don't have to chop wood or make any effort at all whatsoever to light this fire, besides clicking a few buttons on your remote control (or clicker or iPad or phone or stone tablet desktop).
What's it about?
We could say that it's "just a fireplace," that this hearty display of American idealism and home life is nothing more than digital flame on a fake screen, but you know what? We're NOT going to say that. We're just not gonna!
This fireplace is for those less fortunate. It's for "John Smith" and "Jenny White," the blue-collar workers who can't afford a home with a fully functional fireplace. It's emblematic of possibility in the digital age...
It's also great for parties when you want to pretend you're ~~fancy~~.
Seriously though, we turned a TV into a fireplace at a Halloween party this October and it was, in a word, dope. Highly recommended because, despite its tackiness, "Fireplace 4K" is kinda funny and a good conversation starter. No joke!
But what makes it <i>different</i>?<div>And why should I care?</div>
Have you ever relaxed by a fire to the smooth, crisp sounds of crackling wood? If not, now you can.
Have you ever woken up on a chilly morning to the illuminating glow of burning wood, softly filling your living room with light? Well, it's time to give it a try.
Have you ever woken up on a chilly morning to the illuminating glow of burning wood, softly filling your living room with light? Well, it's time to give it a try.
Have you ever wanted to cuddle up with a bundle of blankets on a silent, snowy day and just get lost in a book? This winter, we're making it a reality.
If you're still on the fence...
Burn it to the ground.
Juuuust kidding!
If you really are still on the fence and there's a teeny tiny chance you may ever put "Fireplace 4K" on, wait until the next time you have company over. Throw it on the TV ahead of time. If they don't get at least a chuckle outta it, you can come back and tell us in the comment section.
We'll award the Dailybreaker with the best story a chance to choose the next "What's on Wednesdays" segment subject.*
*Show must be currently on Netflix and available to stream in the United States.
