Giant Desert Centipede
Growing up to eight inches in length, the giant desert centipede lives in the Sonoran Desert, found in the southwest United States and northern Mexico. It hunts at night and uses venom to kill its prey. Apparently, a bite to humans from the giant desert centipede causes extreme soreness and swelling, and is thought to have contributed to a heart attack and skin necrosis.
