In a recent report by Finder.com and Pureprofile, a survey found that Americans spent just under $40 billion in 2018 from drunk shopping. And I think we can all agree that we've contributed to that.
Also, this is a nearly $10 billion increase from last year's findings.
Drunk snacking is the best, isn't it? Not only am I more likely to shove food that's terrible for me in my face while under the influence, I'm also more likely to swipe my credit card without even paying attention to totals. Or, worse -- spotting an entire group's pizzas and insisting, "It's fine, I've got it!" (my inebriated alter ego is too generous).
But, actually, only 52 percent of respondents to the survey said their drunk money was spent on takeout or the munchies. While it still makes up the majority, that leaves another half of the analyzed population who had eyes for other things after having a few too many. Not including the couple who got so wasted that they bought a Sri Lankan hotel, please, vote the most ridiculous purchase to the top.
