Did the Imagineers Miss the Mark on Renovation of Cinderella's Castle?

While Walt Disney World has been shuttered due to COVID-19 and social distancing measures, the theme park has been hard at work making updates to everything from online ticket reservations to FastPass availability (read: there is none) prior to their July 11 reopening. One of the more tangible changes? Cinderella's castle, Magic Kingdom's centerpiece, has undergone a major transformation, dropping its elegant white and blue aesthetic to a more pink and violet tone. There wasn't a whole lot of buzz about the renovations when they were first announced in February, but now that they've happened, opinions are mixed, some even going so far as to call the new look "tacky."
