Tonight, CBS News' Elaine Quijano will be moderating the vice presidential debate between Republican candidate Mike Pence and Democratic candidate Tim Kaine. Now, if you don't have much of an opinion about either of these men (or if you don't even really know who they are), you're not alone. A recent report from CNN found that around 33 percent of Americans are on the exact same page.
To start off, Pence has spent the past three years serving as the governor of Indiana. Before that, he was in the House of Representatives for 12 years. Tim Kaine, meanwhile, has been a U.S. senator representing the state of Virginia since 2013. Before that, he was the Governor of Virginia for four years. So both men have plenty of experience in politics on the state and federal level.
