Valentine's Day is all about love, right? While it can represent whatever kind of love you deem most important -- romantic, platonic, familial -- there's always a hint of lovey-dovey romance in the air.
When you spend the first few V-Days with a significant other, for example, you're constantly trying to impress the other and show off just how much they mean to you. That means romantic gestures abound and chocolates and red wine are probably your primary means of nutrition for the day.
Fast-forward a couple of years, and maybe now you're married. The romance hasn't died altogether, but perhaps it's taken a back seat. A nice home-cooked meal and cute rom-com before bed will just about do it for you two, with no one any less satisfied than when you were packing on the heat.
Now cut to after your kids have taken over your lives. Is there any room for romance between diaper changes, runs to soccer practice and cooking three different meals so someone will just eat something?!
YouTubers Holderness Family Vlogs went ahead and showed viewers that if their Valentine's Day is a bit different after kids than before, they're not alone.
The Holderness parents covered everything from trading lingerie for Spanx to suddenly wanting to smother your other half with a pillow for snoring all night.
When your kids are around, there's no more fancy restaurants where they can make a mess, and you can probably say good-bye to being swept off your feet via spontaneous, "Dirty Dancing"-style lifts.
Thing is...they're not wrong, are they? Things to look forward to, I guess!
