We all love a real-life rom-com-worthy meet-cute, like girl
and boy meet on train but boy doesn’t get girl's number, so he puts a want ad on Craig’s list.
Or the story of the two dog owners who fall in love at the dog park after their
pets fall in love. But this story involves murder, a cemetery and lots of flowers, yet it’s completely adorable. Trust us.
It begins with a death:
Twitter user Sixth Form Poet told this story in a multi-part tweet
that begins with his father's death and Sixth's visits to his grave.
Between him, his mother and his grandparents, they placed a lot of flowers
on the grave:
Sixth felt bad for the guy next to his dad, who never got
flowers at his grave. So he started buying flowers for the lonely guy, too. Cue the collective “Awwwwww!”
But here’s where it gets weird:
Oh sh**!
He had been leaving flowers for a triple MURDERER! Wait for it...
Then at the grave of the dead grandparents, he meets someone.
Finally, it goes from creepy to cute:
That’s so sweet and weird and not where we thought
this twisty story was going AT ALL.
People were immediately enamored with the tale and equated it to their favorite TV comedy.
Sixth then goes on to tell two more stories: One where his
children save up fora trip to Disney but are struck by charitable feelings at the last
moment, and another where his widowed neighbor finds love (and the two stories are
connected!).
The veracity of the story has since been called into question, but true or false, we can't deny that it made us smile. This would make a good plot for a rom-com. Or at least a deliciously twisted episode of "Fleabag."
