Sinterklaas and shoes, Western Europe
In places like Germany and the Netherlands, children traditionally leave a pair of shoes out on the front steps, into which Sinterklaas (this is such a cooler name than “Santa,” isn’t it?) will drop some goodies to be collected the next morning. I just hope the shoes are clean.
