1. Piazza del Popolo
Walking into Piazza del Popolo already feels grand, but the best way to experience it is from the top of Pincio, a terrace within Villa Borghese park. It overlooks the piazza in its entirety, so you can get a true feeling for the vast, symmetrical plaza. This one gets points for scenery, but because it’s so big, it can easily feel more impersonal than other squares.
