Move over, cauliflower rice. Cauliflower gnocchi is the food that I never knew I wanted, but now desperately need. A new product being sold at Trader Joe's, this low-carb alternative to traditional Italian gnocchi could transform your previously all-green dinner plans to a gluten-free haven of repurposed vegetables that could fool even the most sophisticated tastebuds.
Made in Italy, TJ's cauliflower gnocchi is crafted from 75 percent cauliflower, along with cassava flour, potato starch, olive oil and salt. Yes, that's it! No sugar, dairy, wheat or eggs, meaning it's safe for all you gluten-free and dairy-free foodies. It's sold in the frozen section, and although TJ's encourages buyers to sauté it on stovetop to get a more crispy result, it can also be boiled or microwaved.
The best part about this new product? One serving is only 140 calories (traditional gnocchi is around 250) and a 12-ounce bag costs $2.69. Seems too good to be true, right?
Some Twitter users have already tried it, and like what they taste.
Others...not so much.
I have yet to try this glorious creation, but I'm going to go ahead and call it anyways -- it's a yes from me, dawg.
