New Yorkers had a rude awakening on Thursday morning when a speeding car plowed into pedestrians in Manhattan's Times Square, CNN reports.
The driver of the car, 26-year-old Richard Rojas, has been arrested twice for drunk driving in the past, and was driving his 2009 Honda Accord when the accident occurred. He is now in custody. The incident unfolded just before noon, leaving one 18-year-old woman dead and at least 23 people injured. Of those, at least four are in critical condition but are expected to survive.
