In another life, I believe I was an interior designer. While I have very little eye for cohesiveness or color palettes, I love sifting through Pinterest and TikTok looking at aesthetically-pleasing entryways and home renovation videos. Alas, I'm stuck just looking and never touching, cursed without a true eye for design.
That's not the case for Kelsey Hermanson, a Seattle mom of two who doubles as a professional Disney megafan. Born and raised in Southern California, she grew up going to Disneyland and has brought the magic home with her for her family in a huge way.
As small Disney touches throughout her home led to entire remodels, every room in the Hermanson house is now head-to-toe Disney, with an obvious theme reflected in each. Through patient thrifting and detailed customizations, like this vintage carousel horse she painted to evoke Maximus, Flynn Rider's horse from "Tangled," no Disney reference is out of reach. Hermanson has even created Disneyland-inspired topiaries for every corner.
She's showed off her labor of love through Instagram and TikTok, amassing a huge following of home decor hopefuls and Disney buffs alike.
"With the parks being closed and people missing that magic, I think my profile is like a waiting room," Hermanson told Insider. "It allows people to feel that magic again."
