The Director of "The Emperor's New Groove" Proves That Fan Mail Does, in Fact, Get Read

When a Vulture article titled, "An Oral History of 'The Emperor's New Groove,' a Raucous Disney Animated Film That Almost Never Happened" by Bilge Ebiri was published this week, fan Annalise Sheslow wrote to the author, sharing a wonderful anecdote about how she and her friends have connected with each other during the pandemic with the help of the 2000 film. Ebiri passed her along to the film's director, Mark Dindal, who actually responded, and in the best way: with an autographed illustration of the iconic Yzma. A friend of Sheslow's, Madeleine Thompson, shared the entire exchange on Twitter yesterday. This just goes to show that if you're passionate about something, others are likely to enjoy your devotion. Find all the matches from this most underrated of Disney films!
