1. The director of the Oscars, Glen Weiss, proposed to his girlfriend on live TV.
When Weiss accepted his award for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for the 2018 Oscars, he thanked his girlfriend, Jan Svendsen, and then asked her to be his wife. We can't help but wonder though -- what if he hadn't won??? She said “yes,” BTW.
