Would You Give up Your Recline for a More Comfortable Middle Seat on an Airplane?

No one likes the middle seat on a plane -- and if you do, I don't trust you. Window vs. aisle is a heated debate, but the middle seat? There's no question that it stinks. Motion Labe Seating must agree, because they've designed the S1: Space Seat, a design of a three-seat row of economy airplane seats that they hope will fix the issue with being forced to take the middle. The middle seat in the row of their design is staggered both back and down, allowing more shoulder room and less fight over the armrests. The one caveat? It doesn't recline. Womp. Nevertheless, the Federal Aviation Administration has approved the design, which is expected to roll out to at least two airlines for short-haul (up to four-hour) flights as of mid-2020.
