I’ll admit it, I’m not the biggest “Star Wars” fan in the
universe, let alone the galaxy or even humble planet Earth. That being
said, I am a devoted fan. I’ve been
watching “Star Wars” since my mom, after much arbitration, let my dad plop me down in front of a
TV so we could revel in Episodes IV--VI. I saw “Phantom Menace” (and every
subsequent film since) in theaters. I played the video games, wore the
costumes, built the Lego models – the whole nine yards, or 12 parsecs (whatever floats your pod racer).
But when
it comes to the next gen “Star Wars” films, those that have been released since
Disney acquired Lucasfilm (and everything else in the world)…I really,
honestly, unfortunately can’t say I’m as devoted a fan as I once was.
That is…until now. “Solo: A Star Wars Story” has officially
restored my faith in the franchise, and possibly the Force itself. Here's why. SPOILERS AHEAD.
