Social media giant Snapchat, the company that made a name for itself by letting you share filtered selfies with your best friends, surprised us all on Friday when it announced its foray into the tech hardware game. Snap, Inc. (the newly renamed parent company of all Snapchat-related products, goods and services) is launching Spectacles, a pair of sunglasses with the ability to record video. Product details are vague, but we do know Spectacles will be launching this fall and will retail for $130, making the cost of these high-tech sunglasses less than a pair of plain old Ray Ban sunglasses. We're already dreaming up the perfect situations to use Spectacles.
