If you couldn't tell by my unabashed title, "Sicario: Day of the Solado" isn't exactly my favorite film of the summer, let alone the year. But you know what? I'm not gonna go into that. I'm not gonna talk about the shallow shocks and thinly constructed narrative, or the absence of sincere conflict in the main characters, who paled in comparison to their supporting cast.
Instead, I'll just talk about Josh Brolin, AKA Thanos ("Avengers: Infiniti War"), AKA Cable ("Deadpool 2"), AKA a complete and total bad*ss (life in general). And let us not forget -- he played the big brother, Brand, in "The Goonies" way back in 1985. Is Josh Brolin the man or is he the man!?

"Deadpool 2" and "Infinity War" have already grossed more than $2 billion globally and they're still climbing. "Sicario" (despite this critic's harsh reaction) is receiving high praise from other corners of the internet, and it premieres this weekend. The one constant between all three? Brolin, man. Freakin' Brolin.
What's more, both "Deadpool" and "Infinity War" are extending their cinematic universes with Boss Brolin in tow. The next "Avengers" film is in post-production and untitled. The "Deadpool" spinoff, "X-Force" has only been announced. But hey, we're still excited.
At 50 years old, Mr. Bro-Bro-Brolin isn't exactly a "young buck" of a Hollywood star, but he sure as hell ain't old either. He's just a late bloomer, OK? In a recent interview with New York Times reporter Taffy Brodesser-Akner, Brolinator 9000 revolted against the stigma of his age. "Like, no, I’m 50. So what’s the thing, to start playing guys that are the next-door neighbor who’s the grumpy old dude who’s married in the rom-com, and then Jennifer Aniston goes and [expletive] the other guy who’s cooler and he’s an [expletive]? Like, no. I’ve been offered a lot of those parts, and I’m like, no, man. Don’t want to do that."

If one thing is for sure, it's that Josh Brolin may be the biggest star of the summer. He's giving Chris Pratt a run for his money, he's the only two-time super villain, one-time special forces operative and he's damn funny in interviews. Additionally, he starred in "Men In Black 3" (2012), "Milk" (2008) and "No Country For Old Men" (2007), one piece of flaming garbage, and two amazing, critically-acclaimed films.
All hail the Brolin. He will now be replacing men everywhere in the photos taken on their wedding days.
As it should be.
