Unless you've been living under a rock, you've likely seen, or at the very least heard about, the show "YOU" on Netflix. It's based on the thriller novel of the same name by Caroline Kepnes that follows a man -- in book 1, Joe Goldberg -- as he navigates finding love in New York City. There's a catch, though: He's a bit of a sociopath and a lot of a serial killer.
Now, we all know the current generation's fascination with crime and murder. Shows like "Mindhunter" and books like "Gone Girl" can't be consumed fast enough. True crime podcasts are some of the most listened-to on Spotify. The thing about "YOU," though, is that as much as we may be inclined, we just can't help but root for the bad guy. Sure, Joe kills people, but doesn't he mean well??? We've done a full exploration on the phenomenon that is rooting for the bad guy, but suffice to say it's a little messed up. And a lot of people get duped into feeling this way.
So, if you like the psychological thriller genre, you've already binged both seasons of "YOU" and you can't get enough of protagonists that kill in the name of love, honor or what have you, check out the titles below. We created this list just for...you, love.
