Is Naming Your Child After a TV Character a Good Idea?

"Game of Thrones" fans may be familiar with the trend that's taken flight over the last few years of parents naming their children after Westerosi characters. Between 2010 and 2019, for example, "Arya" (or "Aria") has risen about 800 spaces on plenty of lists of most popular female baby names. (Ironic, given that Arya Stark spends lots of time during the show trying to rid herself of her name.) The names "Khaleesi" and "Daenerys" are equally popular, but after Sunday's intense episode, questions are arising as to whether or not it was a good idea after all to name children after the seemingly Mad Queen. Perhaps they shouldn't have jumped the name gun?
