1. "Apollo 13"
We can’t talk about astronaut-focused films without mentioning Ron Howard’s "Apollo 13." Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon and Bill Paxton portray the three astronauts who were due to land on the moon in 1970. An en-route explosion leads to the mission being aborted and the trio are left fighting to survive. Howard has been praised for putting in so much effort into the movie’s accuracy and even filmed in what’s called “the vomit comet” to create the zero-gravity scenes.
