Eli and Peyton Manning's father played quarterback; Steph Curry's dad taught him how to shoot. Kids tend to get some talent from their parents, so it's only natural that Olympia Ohanian swing a tennis racket every now and then.
Serena Williams' 3-year-old daughter may be most famous for her matching outfits or her doll Qai Qai, but the tot is about to find out if she's set to follow in her mama's footsteps as a tennis pro. Williams shared some clips on her Instagram story today of how she and Olympia were preparing for her daughter's first ever tennis lesson.
And no -- she wasn't planning on teaching her herself.
"Don't even start with me, because I'm not giving her tennis lessons," she said, talking to the camera. "I'm not a pushy mom, but I know how I like technique, so I want to make sure [her coach is] good and teaching Olympia some techniques."
Pushy mom? Never. Proud athlete? You know it.
Williams shared how she and Olympia were going over some gameplay film -- "See the open stance, there? Oh, and look at the speed, be fast." -- even though Olympia would have rather been watching cartoons, and even gave us a glimpse into both of their outfits. Olympia sported a matching black and white set, while Mom went with a long teal skirt and pink printed top.
The best part of the day? Apparently, Olympia's new coach had no idea that she'd be teaching the daughter of one of the greatest to ever play. No pressure!
"I'm gonna leave, so I'm not distracting," Williams reported from the sidelines of the court. "I'm not an overprotective mom...no matter what Alexis says."
Here's hoping Olympia's first lesson is a success! Who knows, maybe we have a new little champion on the way.
