A Second "Game of Thrones" Prequel Is Rumored to Be in Development

We really shouldn't get ahead of ourselves, but we can't help it: Rumor has it that a second "Game of Thrones" prequel may be in the works. Variety reported on Thursday (after the Iron Throne was given the Bernie Sanders meme treatment) that author George R. R. Martin's novella series, "Three Tales of Dunk and Egg," is in talks to be adapted for HBO. Set 90 years before the events we see in "Game of Thrones," the three short stories follow Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and Aegon Targaryen V (Egg) on their Westerosi adventures. This would be the second prequel series to see the light of day; "House of the Dragon," which should start production soon (if it already hasn't), will focus on the Targaryen civil war, aka the Dance of Dragons.
