Any thoughts of paddle boarding on the open water have gone out the window after I watched a video of a kayaker being slapped with an octopus.
Kyle Mulinder was kayaking with his friends off the coast of New Zealand when a seal surfaced with an octopus between its teeth. It appears the former was trying to make the latter its meal and inadvertently slapped Mulinder.
Mulinder told Seven News in Australia that he could "feel all the hard parts of the octopus" on his face.
In an attempt to resist the seal's jaws, the octopus attached itself to Mulinder's kayak. "There's an octopus on my boat!" Mulinder, who works for Go Pro, kept yelling as the octopus sought sanctuary on a paddle.
Let's watch one more time!
