Over the weekend, the "Riverdale" cast was shipped off to Vancouver, where production on the end of season 4 and all of season 5 is beginning after COVID-19 delays. While us fans are anxious to get back to the fictional town and reunite with all of its certifiably insane residents, we’re kind of glad we don’t have to be on set. Star Lili Reinhart, who plays girl-next-door Betty Cooper in the series, recently spoke with Nylon magazine about how quarantine measures are affecting the filming process, namely that no one will really be able to visit family until the season wraps.
"I genuinely feel like a prisoner, going back to work, because I cannot leave Canada. That doesn't feel good. You can't go home for Thanksgiving, can't visit your family," she said. "No one can come visit you unless they quarantine for two weeks. It just feels f***ed."
To be fair, she is being forced to hang out in the same city as her ex for three months, so you gotta feel for her. But she’s keeping her followers updated on her time in Canada, assuring everyone she’s finding the silver linings:
To combat the quarantine blues, the actress and her co-stars, Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom) and Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge), who seem to be bunking together (with their dogs!), found a way to pass the time: TikTok.
A new account called Lamila Petschart (@blondebrunetteredhead, fittingly), a blend of the three leading ladies' names, recently surfaced on the video-sharing platform, and the content is already flowing. Each actress has participated in the "60 Second Challenge," in which the person being filmed, while wearing headphones with music blasting, attempts to answer questions solely based on their lip-reading abilities.
They’ve slayed some dance challenges...
...and botched others:
We’re not sure if the whole cast is hanging in this house or if the guys have their own quarantine camp, but we do know that KJ Apa (Archie Andrews) is also active on TikTok. He goes by @fifiisqueen and has mostly just been doing super quirky dances and showing off his quarantine beard -- which is shaved clean in his latest video and paired with Archie’s signature red hair, a clear indicator that filming is back on.
RIP, KJ beard. We’ll not soon forget you.
So, collab, anyone?
