1. Photos of Only Scenery or Close-Ups
The vacation rental description might say it has spacious rooms, spotless bathrooms, a full kitchen and all the creature comforts of home, but the pictures can tell a different story. If a rental has very few pictures of the lodging itself and more images of the scenery or nearby landmarks, this is a red flag. Another red flag is if most of the photos are close-ups of very specific details, like wall art or toiletries, as these close-ups may be hiding dirty or cramped rooms.
