Whichever of the Fab Five of “Queer Eye” is your favorite, I’m sure we can agree that we root for the continued success and eternal happiness of each and every one of these lovely men. So, I’m already way too excited for Tan France’s memoir, which I’m hoping won’t reduce me to tears too quickly.
The official synopsis, according to Entertainment Weekly, hints at France’s “trademark humor, savvy sense of style, [and] radical compassion” as he tells his story “as the first openly gay Muslim on western television.”
France, the style guru on Netflix’s reboot of 2003’s “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” is the founder of Kingdom & Slate, a women’s fashion company, and a partner at Rachel Parcell. He’s been circulating the fashion world since college, and most recently has been lending his trendsetting skills to the makeovers that he and his colleagues perform on “Queer Eye,” the second season of which was announced in March.
The 35-year-old’s memoir will detail his life growing up in northern England with his Pakistani parents and how he eventually came out to them with his husband just a year ago. That, and he’ll include some style tips to add a bit of lightheartedness to what will surely be an intense story.
“The book is meant to spread joy, personal acceptance, and most of all, understanding,” France said in a statement.
We’ll have to wait until 2019 to get a glimpse of France’s life, but you can also be on the lookout for France’s co-star and fellow Fab Fiver Antoni Porowski’s cookbook.
In the meantime, time to re-watch season 1 of “Queer Eye” all the way through.
