"Queer Eye" is back, people! Season 3 was officially released on Netflix today, and this season includes episodes featuring the Fab Five's first lesbian woman of the series and a new locale of Kansas City, Mo. The eight feel-good episodes are exactly what we need while we endlessly wait for sunnier days and make the perfect complement to your self-care Sunday routines.
Turns out, Antoni Porowski and Tan France, the respective food and style gurus of the show, practice their own version of self care that I can't stop giggling at.
In an interview with HelloGiggles before the release of the new season, Porowski and France talked about how they destress given that they're constantly traveling and spending a lot of time with each other. Five gay men stuck in a loft or pickup truck together, filming for hours upon hours a day? Yeah, I can see why they'd need specific cool-down routines.
"So before [Queer Eye], I used to run a few businesses. It was actually super, super stressful. I used to tell myself, 'This will pass,'" France said. "Just to say, 'This will pass' would help me get through it."
France confirmed that these co-baths have happened on "numerous occasions," and I can't even judge.
Porowski, on the other hand, shared that he likes to sing Oasis at the top of his lungs -- from the bathtub. With France on FaceTime.
"We spend a lot of time in hotels of late, and I get really excited when there’s a bathtub because I take every single little sample," he said. "I take every shampoo sample then ask for five extra, and I dump them in a bathtub. I put in really hot water, and then I have my Julia Roberts 'Pretty Woman' moment where I’m in the bathtub."
This is where France comes in.
"I FaceTime Tan from the bathtub and I make him get in his bathtub and take his top off, so that we can both feel like we’re taking a bath together," Porowski continued.
France confirmed that these co-baths have happened on "numerous occasions," and I can't even judge.
Picture it: You're sitting in a hot, drawn bath with a Lush bath bomb floating around, bubbling up around you, and you call your best friend. You're already in the process of relaxing, and then you get to vent to someone about whatever gripes you have! A release for your body and mind, all in one.
And, really, this kind of self care is exactly what the Fab Five preach on "Queer Eye" during every episode: Do things that make sense for your own happiness and you'll find yourself in a more positive frame of mind.
This version of bath time may be on the extreme side of that philosophy, but hey, whatever works.
I wonder if any of my friends would be down to FaceTime me from the tub...
