Starbucks Squashes the Competition, Doubles Down on Pumpkin-Based Creations

When we asked you all last year if bringing the Pumpkin Spice Latte back prior to Labor Day was too early for Starbucks, the answer was a resounding "yes." But, alas, they care not: The PSL, which has garnered a cult-like following whether it includes you or not, will make its valiant return even earlier this year on Aug. 27. The biggest complaint surrounding the autumnal drink has been its sweetness factor -- namely, that there's too much of it. So, the coffee chain is launching a brand new pumpkin-based drink for the first time since 2003: the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. The drink, which 'Bucks claims to be more coffee-forward than its veteran counterpart, will combine Starbucks' signature cold brew with vanilla syrup, a pumpkin cream cold foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice topping.
