Maybe it's just me, but every time I get an invitation to a holiday party (or any party, really) I can never decide if I should bring a dessert or booze. On one hand, I love trying new recipes so going to a get-together with friends is a great excuse to experiment in the kitchen. On the other hand, parties can never have too much alcohol and the host will always be grateful when you show up with a bottle in hand. Thankfully, we no longer need to choose between the two because one New York City bakery has combined them. I give you: prosecco pie.
Ruffino wines and NYC's Little Pie Company have collaborated to make this pastry to end all pastries. The pie, which is Ruffino-inspired apple inside and salted caramel outside, comes in both five- and 10-inch versions that are perfect for passing. Adorned with glittery gold topping, it basically looks like a Christmas bulb on a plate.
"We had a blast creating the Ruffino Prosecco Pie, from finding the perfect balance between the prosecco, apple and salted caramel to ensure its mouthwatering taste, to decorating the crust," said Little Pie Company's creator Arnold Wilkerson.
Thankfully for us, the bakery is shipping this delicacy nationwide through Dec. 31, meaning your baked good preparation for both Christmas and New Years is officially done and dusted.
