One day before Princess Charlotte of Cambridge turns two, the Duchess of Cambridge released a new picture of the toddler at the family's home, Anmer Hall. Catherine herself took the photo the back in April, according to royal reporter Richard Palmer.
Wearing a Fair Isle cardigan from John Lewis and a bow in her hair, Charlotte posed for her mother who also took her first birthday photos last year.
"The Duke and Duchess are delighted to share a new photograph of Princess Charlotte to mark her second birthday tomorrow 🎈," Kensington Palace tweeted around 10 a.m. local time. TRH [Their Royal Highnesses] would like to thank everyone for the lovely messages they have received & hope that everyone enjoys this photograph as much as they do."
According to the Daily Mail, William, Catherine and Prince Harry have no engagements scheduled tomorrow, as it's expected they and the Middletons are throwing the princess a party. Prince Charles has commitments all week in Scotland, so he will likely not attend.
Horses could be part of tomorrow's theme; at an Olympic and Paralympic event back in October, Catherine revealed to equestrian gold medalist Natasha Baker that Charlotte takes riding lessons.
"I asked her how the children were and she said Charlotte is really enjoying her riding which is great to hear and I said we may see her here on a line-up in 20 years time," Baker told the Mail. "She emphasized that Charlotte has this passion about horses and although she doesn't echo it, she'll do her best to champion and encourage it."
Here's hoping there are bubbles at the party for my kindred spirit:
