Prince William and Major Environmentalists to Award Sustainable Solutions

Today, the official Kensington Palace Instagram account revealed Prince William's exciting news: the Earthshot Prize, which will be awarded to individuals and organizations (anyone from scientists to whole cities, really) that present creative ideas and strategies for protecting our planet. Bearing the focus of five simple but ambitious goals for the planet's safety in mind, the Duke of Cambridge is hoping that the Earthshot Prize will spark a new wave of sustainability solutions. Beginning with nominations on Nov. 1, five recipients will be chosen by a council every year from 2021 to 2030. "There are wonderful people doing incredible things around the world, all within small communities everywhere. If one of them might have an amazing idea, we can scale that up, we can use that to really tackle some issues," the Duke told CNN.
